“Frixos Georgiades founded the original Athena back in 1973 on the Southside of Glasgow. The present day Athena on Elderslie Street carries on the same family tradition of serving authentic, hearty, Greek cuisine at an excellent price and is owned by Frixos’ Grandson Kevin Campbell.
Our kitchen is headed up Muli Mukja who puts together traditional family recipes of delicious rustic food, using fresh local ingredients and Cypriot produce. House specialties include our Kleftico, slow cooked lamb shank and Mezedes. We offer a great selection of Greek starters, mains and desserts – our menu is not for the faint hearted though – we serve hearty portions here!”
